EDITORIAL: If I wasn’t watching the full uncensored video version (initially played last night, by the Canadian main broadcaster CBC), of “the interaction” between one elderly Montreal citizen and Canadian NDP (New Democratic Party) leader Jagment Singh (“turban wearing politician” of Punjabi origin), and if I was relaying only on the “bombastic mainstream media news”, playing since early this morning in all Canadian (and most Western) mainstream media- I would, probably too, jump to the conclusion that “this old Dirty Red Neck” shouted some racist slurs at the new rising Canadian political star, who owes his disproportionate (to his political party size and the official ratings) media popularity, mostly due to his distinguished religious uniqueness, while for the same reason his party is likely on a decline across the Canada…
Comparing the full uncensored, and not-modified, version of the video clip, with today edited and “audio altered” version, it is difficult to avoid thinking that something fishy (read: politically-correct) is going on here. First of all, in the original (not-audio altered) version we can see that Mr. Singh initiated the contact, turning around and approaching the elderly man, asking him in normal, but louder, voice: “..let me see how are you, good to see you, so you okay..?” immediately trying to continue his walk, basically just initiating another photo op.
The senior citizen then addressed Mr. Singh in a very quiet voice, approaching him and practically whispering the words in his ear- this part of the conversation on part of the elderly man clearly was not intended for the public to hear, and it was picked up only because the media reporters “on the scene” were using highly sensitive microphones and audio equipment.
The senior man whispered to Mr. Singh ear the next words: “You know, you should cut (remove) turban to look more like Canadian..” Mr. Singh who was fully aware of the media presence, finally it was his political media tour (during the current ongoing federal elections campaign, in which the leader of the party, which win the majority will become the future Canadian Prime Minister) on the Montreal’ streets, replied to the old man in a loud and clear voice ” There are all kind of us Canadians… but this is Canada, you can do whatever you like”, and left the area.
To make things more fishy, on the part of Canadian mainstream media- the public part of this conversation, in which the elderly man addressed departing (walking away) Jagment Singh in a loud and clear words: “I wish you win!“- is completely cut off from all today media reports, while the whispering (private) part of the conversation is audio modified (amplified) intentionally implying that the old man intention was to publicly humiliate Mr. Singh, which in the opinion of this writer clearly was not the case. Furthermore, putting this “whispering” in the context with the senior citizen publicly expressed wish to Mr. Singh: to win this election, the only conclusion for the reasonable and “cool headed” (not infected by the “politically correct zombie” virus) person would be that the “good will elderly citizen” was (inter)acting without any malice, and without any “racist intention”!?
Finally, the old man was just whispering “the words of advice” to Mr. Singh’ ear- What kind of a racist whispers to somebody’ ear “the racist slurs”, instead of shouting them “loud and clear”!? But this is Canada, and the show (read: “the politically correct national self-castration”) must go on…
