BELGRADE – Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic, who is also the head of the committee for the return of the earthly remains of members of the Karadjordjevic family to Serbia, said on Thursday the government would try to get the remains of King Petar back as well, even though there were certain issues with the U.S..
Not explaining the issues, Nikolic stressed that Serbia would see the day when it lifts off its back the burden of having treated poorly people who had served it well.
Commenting on the significance of the transfer of the remains of Prince Pavle, Princess Olga and Prince Nikola Karadjordjevic to Serbia, Nikolic pointed out his duty was to respct a man who had led Serbia because it was all Serbia, whether a kingdom or a republic.
The Serbian government has done a lot to recover the remains of members of the Karadjordjevic family and it will continue to do so until all the Karadjordjevics are in the country, he noted.
