Speaking about the difference between Jasenovac and Aushwitz, he said that “German National-Socialists preferred not to face victims, they liked the clean death, while Croatian Ustasha killers were finding a pleasure in suffering of their victims.

“There was a big difference, Croats would rather to watch the suffering of their dying victims. We can see it clearly from the photos taken in Jasenovac, while Germans proffered the gas chambers, which you could avoid to watch- which, I like to state, was more sterile death,” highlighted Greif. 

In his opinion, another big difference between the two (Auschwitz and Jasenovac) was that Germans were, above humiliation and torture, utilizing the physical strength (for forced labor) of their victims, while the only purpose of Jasenovac was inflicting the suffering- suffering until the death…

The newest research: 800,000 Serbs were murdered in Jasenovac

Belgrade- Professor Dr Gideon Greif, the leading researcher in the Holocaust Institute “Shem Olam” in Israel has just revealed the newest findings about mass murder and torture in “Jasenovac”…

Based on the evidence resulting from 4 years of his scientific research on project “Jasenovac- the Balkans’ Auschwitz”, Greif states that in “Jasenovac” at least 800,000 Serbs and around 40,000 Jews were murdered in the most brutal fashion. “Jasenovac was an Empire of Death– highlights Greif adding that revisionism (conducted currently by Croatian authorities) is the repeated murder of victims.

“We have to focus all our efforts against revisionism, so the same victims don’t become victims again. The facts are the facts, and they cannot be swept under the carpet, the truth always eventually comes out in open. All these efforts on revisionism (conducted by Croats) I consider childish and they are doomed to fail”, he stated.

Greif said that Jasenovac’ victims had been murdered using 57 different methods. “I am confident that in the Auschwitz they did not use so many different killing methods. This (Jasenovac) is the world record. Something like this hasn’t been recorded in the mankind history”- he highlighted adding that there cannot be any suspicion about the numbers of victims. He reminded that the official (post-WWII) research of combined “Croatian/Serbian Commission” found that the total number of victims was around 1.4 million.
